Our Work Shop
The hub and heart of Allwood is our workshop. It is where Gerry started and the place he loves to be. We use traditional joinery craft as well as new and innovative processes and the latest CNC machinery including a MAKA 5 axis CNC to produce our unique pieces.
Our Process
We work closely with architects and project managers on most of our projects; some from the initial design stage aiding in the design process and others from architectural drawings. With most of our privately commissioned pieces, the process starts with us sketching our ideas together and building a realistic 3D model. From this approved design we build each piece by hand in our workshop using traditional woodworking arts, which allow us to add subtle details such as dove-tail joints and hand-rubbed finishes.
